Why kids join gangs?
Young adults or children join gangs for many reasons:
THESE ARE THE MOST COMMON REASONS
- Trying to find love or structure; Children aren't getting enough love from their parents so they join a gang to find that missing love structure or discipline.
- Trying to belong and find a place of acceptance; a lot of young teens feel left out and to feel that sense of belonging they join a gang because everyone in gangs always take care of each other equally.
- Being power hungry; joining a gang includes lots of violence and power. Someone who is power hungry will probably join a gang for this reason.
- For excitement; Young adults always complain about being bored and some feel that joining a gang would help that .
- For higher self-esteem; Gang members make everyone feel equal and make other members feel good about themselves.
- For safety; Gang members take care of each other like brothers some kids would join a gang for that safety.
- As a tradition; If a past family member was a gang member their kids will want to be just like them.
